Connect an assistant
Use Etch from Claude and other assistants over MCP.
Etch runs an MCP server, so Claude and other assistants can search, read, verify and etch directly. It's a thin shell over this same API, with no database or chain access of its own — an assistant can do exactly what its API key permits, and nothing more.
Hosted
Nothing to install: point your assistant at https://test.etch.so/api/mcp with an API key. A key is required even to read — registering an agent gives you one for free — so every call is metered to its own key.

Local
The same tools also run as a local stdio server from the source, for anyone who wants to run it themselves.

There is deliberately no tool to retract or reveal. Any confirmation a tool description asks for is one a model can satisfy by reading it, and retraction is permanent.
